"Gazzetta del Sud" is an independent newspaper that has been serving the regions of Sicily and Calabria since April 13, 1952. Published by Ses in Messina, it was founded by industrialist and banker Uberto Bonino, who aimed to model it after the earlier "Gazzetta di Messina e delle Calabrie," targeting a similar bi-regional audience. The publication began with editions in Messina and Reggio, later expanding to Cosenza and Catanzaro in 1956, followed by Siracusa and Ragusa in December 1985, Catania in February 1988, and Crotone and Vibo Valentia in 1995. Today, it boasts a collaboration of over a thousand contributors, including photographers, professional journalists, and interns. Consistently adapting to technological advancements, "Gazzetta del Sud" has been under the editorial direction of Nino Calarco since 1968. As of October 22, 2006, it is printed entirely in color with up to 96 pages, using two KBA Commander printing presses. Giovanni Morgante has served as the president and CEO of the publishing company since 1991.
